Better Place Denmark to plug electric cars by 2011

California start-up Better Place and Danish utility Dong Energy said Tuesday they have lined up financing to bring an electric car charging network to Denmark by 2011.
The two organizations have secured almost $103 million in equity and convertible debt that will go toward constructing stations where drivers can swap in fresh batteries for electric cars.

Better Place's business plan focuses on building a network of automated battery-swapping stations along driving corridors. Places to rapidly charge or get fresh batteries will address the range limitations of existing car batteries, according to Better Place.
Although Better Place has announced customers with the governments of Israel, Hawaii, Portugal, and San Francisco for its network of charging stations, Denmark appears to be the first to secure financing to build the charging infrastructure.
Once a network is set up, state-controlled Dong Energy said its excess wind power capacity can be used for charging electric cars. Denmark now gets 20 percent of its electricity from wind turbines, but a portion of that electricity is exported because it can't be stored economically.
"Our goal in investing in Better Place Denmark is to help reduce CO2 emissions and increase the consumption of sustainable energy by capturing and leveraging wind power more efficiently," Dong Energy CEO Anders Eldrup said in a statement.
The structure of the deal underlines the pieces auto industry executives say need to be in place before electric cars can be used by large numbers of consumers.
Utilities need to be involved to understand and manage the shift in power-grid load that electric cars bring. Government incentives need to be in place to overcome the higher cost of battery-powered vehicles. In Denmark, the government does not levy a sales tax on electric cars to promote their use.
The start-up also announced that it has hired former Microsoft Europe executive Jens Moberg as CEO of Better Place Denmark.

Pembayaran Google Adsense Melalui Western Union

Informasi ini khusus saya buat untuk teman blogger yang akan mencairkan pembayaran google adsense (GA) untuk pertama kali. Artinya saat ini saldo GA sudah mencapai ambang batas pencairan atau sudah mencapai $ 100 Amerika Serikat. Setelah mencapai jumlah ini biasanya GA akan menampilkan payment issue kapan waktu pembayaran GA bisa dicairkan, payment issue ini bisa dilihat dari Laporan Pembayaran Google Adsense dari akun GA.
Dari pengalaman saya lalu, waktu itu saya kebingungan tentang prosedur pencairan google adsense dengan western union ini, sehingga saya harus bertanya kesana-sini dan membaca beberapa artikel tentang pembayaran GA western union. Muncul beberapa pertanyaan dibenakku waktu itu seperti :
Dengan metode ini saldo GA akan menggunakan Dollar Amerika, sehingga saldo GA akan dikonversi menggunakan Kurs Dollar Amerika yang ada pada saat pencairan Western Union. Hanya saja dengan memakai WU kurs yang digunakan sedikit dibawah kurs dollar standar.
Perlu diperhatikan nilai maksimum pembayaran via Western Union Quick Cash adalah $2.800 USD atau sekitar Rp. 27.000.000,- jika earning dari adsense kita melebihi angka tsb, maka sisanya akan otomatis di pindahkan menjadi Secured Express Delivery (biaya kirim dipotong $24 USD)
Pembayaran Via Western Union Quick Cash
Jika Anda ingin mencairkan pembayaran google adsense melalui Western Union Quick Cash, ada beberapa hal yang harus sudah terpenuhi terlebih dahulu; Pertama: pengaturan pembayaran GA dengan WU pada akun Google AdSense sudah diganti; Kedua: saldo di akun google adsense sudah mencapai $ 100 US.
Langkah Pertama:
1. Login ke akun google adsense di www.google.com/adsense.
2. Lihat tab My Account.
3. Klik edit pada bagian Payment Details.
4. Pilih Western Union Quick Cash.
5. Klik Continue.
6. Langkah terakhir klik tombol Save Changes untuk menyimpan metode pembayaran.
Perlu untuk diperhatikan kalu nama pada akun google adsense harus sesuai dengan kartu identitas anda seperti KTP atau SIM, sehingga tidak terjadi masalah pada saat pencairan google adsense di counter Western Union Quich Cash. Jika ternyata namanya belum sama Anda bisa menggantinya dari akun GA Anda, caranya seperti berikut:
Kita akan mendapatkan 10 digit angkat MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number) di akhir bulan. Untuk menerima uang dari mata uang lokal Western Union, kita harus memberikan kode MTCN dan nama kita sesuai dengan KTP, berikan juga alamat Google HQ sebagai konfirmasi. Kode MTCN (pada gambar no. 1) ini bisa dilihat pada menu Laporan Pembayaran AdSense, terlihat seperti gambar berikut:

Dengan metode pembayaran Western Union Quick Cash ini bisa dicairkan melalui tempat berlogo Wester Union seperti bank, kantor pos, indomaret, dll. Klu saya pernah mencairkan WU di kantor pos, waktu itu hanya perlu membawa photo copy KTP 1 lembar dan mengisi formulir penarikan Western Union, setelah itu saya menyerahkan formulir tersebut kepada kasir WU. Hanya dalam 10 menit saja proses pencairan Goggle Adsense dengan Western Union ini bisa selesai.
NB: Opsi pembayaran via western Union hanya untuk publisher personal saja.
